ABOUT US

On behalf of the entire league, welcome to Iron Mountain Roller Derby! Iron Mountain is an (18 years and older) flat-track recreational roller derby league based out of Allegany County, MD.  We represent the Western MD, and surrounding PA and WV region in the exciting and fast growing roller derby revolution currently sweeping the world. We have a broad range of skaters in our league from skate park skaters to skaters who have minimal to no experience. When we aren't skating we are business owners, professionals, teachers, parents, students, and a variety of other professions. We were founded in August 2010 and continue to grow as an organization. 

NO experience is necessary to become a roller derby player! If you have the dedication and a willingness to try, we will make sure you get the training, support and encouragement to get you there. We will maintain an open welcoming environment without racism/sexism, body-shaming, homophobia/transphobia/fat-phobia. Derby is all about kicking ass without tearing others down. Shine theory!
